Plans, facilitates, and leads process improvement projects applying Six Sigma methodologies. Implements and monitors strategic improvement initiatives across a variety of business applications. Champions Six Sigma processes and methodology.
Partners with business stakeholders to identify continuous process improvement initiatives.
Manages and ensures successful project deployment and completion.
Coaches process improvement project team members on Six Sigma application and on the use of applicable quality tools.
Keeps management apprised of project progress, budget, barriers, and issues.
Gathers, analyzes, and synthesizes relevant information.
Presents findings and implementation plans to business management partners.
Provides support as required to Master Black Belt.
Develops network with Black Belts and Master Black Belts for cross-organizational project knowledge sharing and support.
Aiag Core Tools Expectation - AIAG Core tools are seen as being fundamental in support of the automotive preferred quality system ISO/TS 16949, and delivering satisfactory product quality.
Six Sigma - This skill is concerned with three disciplines: (1)TDFSS (Technology Development for Six Sigma): the systematic methodology of integrating statistical tools into the Product Proceeding Technology process in order to achieve predictive design quality and meet Voice of the Customer requirements. (2)DFSS (Design for Six Sigma): similar tools used in the product and process development work in order to achieve predictive design quality and meet Voice of the Customer requirements. (3)DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) Six Sigma: a disciplined approach to enterprise-wide quality and improvement and variation reduction using statistically-based tools.
Plan, Control And Assure Product And Process Quality - Processes for quality planning (e.g. Design Review), validation methods, and drawing interpretation. Principles of inspection sample plans, measurement types and selection of measurement tools, and metrology practices.
Quantitative Methods - Terms and basic variation/probability concepts. Data collection and summarization e.g. Histogram, box plot, run chart, etc. Tools for statistical decision making e.g. Hypothesis testing, ANOVA (Analysis of Variation). Regression and correlation analysis. DOE (Design of Experiments), SPC (Statistical Process Control) and Process capability.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree required.
Previous work experience and interaction with senior leadership at a single BU/segment/entity level preferred
2-4 years of relevant Cummins work experience preferred
